He honestly didn’t think people would really believe the tweet was real, especially because he spelled “Jones” wrong, as Joans. Yeah, but Shaun, that’s exactly why people thought it was real. There was nothing in this tweet that was so extreme or egregious as to be unbelievable. This is Donald Trump, the nuttiest, most scorched-earth, most bad-at-Twitter politician of all time we’re talking about. Is satire still satire if it’s too accurate?
