With a nod to how movie studios campaign for Oscars with full-page ads in entertainment industry newspapers like Variety, the Comedy Central news-and-politics-skewering institution similarly took out ads, actively seeking out a “Most Dishonest & Corrupt Media Award of the Year.”
The Daily Show is running a full page Oscar-style “For Your Consideration” ad in the New York Times today, aimed at winning President Trump’s upcoming dishonest media awards… pic.twitter.com/iVO8avtPlE

Whereas a movie-boosting ad would contain plaudits from critics, the Daily Show ad includes quotes that savage the show and deride it as a tool of the left.
“Political propaganda disguised as entertainment.” — Breitbart News
“Trevor Noah is an anti-Trump hack.” — The Rebel Media
“Monotonous…liberal dogma.” — The New York Post
It ended with a final pitch of, “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah: So fake, even this ad isn’t real.”
Comedy Central’s Trump-baiting “For Your Consideration” ad appeared as a full-page ad in the New York Times on Friday. Twitter was delighted.
Instead of pretending to be mad, this is exactly how the media should handle this. https://t.co/3LN6e55XaN

So nice of Trump to help bolster ad sales for the failing NYT.

"So fake, even this ad isn't real" – is a good end-line

Two shows hosted by Daily Show alums are getting in on the fake news awards season campaigning, too. Check out these mock ads “touting” The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.
So excited for Monday’s “MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR!” See you on the red carpet, @AndersonCooper! #TheFakies pic.twitter.com/r8pYCj0g9r

Nice try @colbertlateshow and @TheDailyShow, but we’re sweeping the #Dishonesties this year. (P.S. @realdonaldtrump, how about a female host next time?) pic.twitter.com/dAhE5epA4D
