Stephen King Offers Some Key Advice For Dealing With Trump Supporters

Against all odds, Trump has yet to disappear and leave us all in peace — which means that his supporters and proponents have also become a rather unfortunate fixture of our daily lives. In some cases, these people are actually our friends and relatives (which means that we’re obligated to interact with them, regardless of how vehemently we disagree with their political views).

While it’s tempting to freeze out the people in your life who oppose your morals and values, author Stephen King cautions against this impulse.

In a recent tweet, King emphasized the importance of staying “friendly” and “connected” with the Trump supporters in our lives.

King asserts that staying firm in your beliefs doesn’t mean shutting people out — you can inform someone of a mistruth and still keep things respectful. The author has been quite vocal about his own opposition to Trump in the past, so he should know.

King once tweeted that Trump is “an almost textbook case of narcissistic personality disorder.”

“That this guy has his finger on the nuclear trigger is worse than any horror story I ever wrote,” he added.

Of course, as several commenters pointed out, King’s method is easier said than done …

… but hey, it’s a nice thought.
