Hey, remember the mid-2000s? What a wonderful time to be alive, for which we are now nostalgic! We wore trucker hats because Ashton Kutcher told us they were cool, we thought the Killers would save rock music, and the hottest thing on TV was a reality show about businesspeople called The Apprentice.
Whatever happened to that guy who hosted the show, the real estate tycoon with the weird hair that all the contestants wanted to work for? Oh, right, that’s Donald Trump, and he inexplicably became president of the United States. The other breakout star of The Apprentice: Omarosa Manigault Newman, the prototypical “I didn’t come here to make friends” reality TV contestant. Whatever happened to her? Well, because Donald Trump has a complete and total lack of political experience, he stacked his administration with friends, family, and costars. He made Omarosa (she was “first name only” famous for a while) director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, as well as a special assistant.
Well, she was director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison. As of yesterday, Omarosa is out. Reports say that after Trump’s chief of staff John Kelly told Omarosa “you’re fired” (haha, ‘member?), she got so mad that she tried to look for Trump in his White House residential quarters, which set off all kinds of security alarms, prompting the Secret Service to escort her off the premises. (The Secret Service claims that nothing of the sort occurred.)
ABC landed an exclusive interview with Omarosa, who told her side of the story today on Good Morning America. (Long story short, Omarosa said she wasn’t fired because she quit.) The most interesting part of this story, and Omarosa’s appearance, came after it was over. GMA host Robin Roberts was not impressed and cynically commented, “She says she has a story to tell, and I’m sure she’ll be telling that story.” Then, Roberts added some shade with a quick, “Bye, Felicia.”
“Bye, Felicia” is a terse but brutal brush-off and send-off to persona non grata, coined by Ice Cube in the 1995 comedy classic Friday.
The internet was utterly delighted by Roberts’s audacious verbal eyeball.
Robin Roberts had the same look on her face that your mom would have when you told her you had good grades but your teacher already called the house to tell her the truth https://t.co/ChZqefapfT

Robin Roberts is a class act all the way. If you're getting on her bad side, you're just done.
