In the world of GOP political commentators, the idea of what it means to exhibit “professionalism” has become decidedly blurred. While name-calling was once considered to be regressive, it has become somewhat de rigueur for the modern Republican party.
Along with the rest of the nation, Fox contributor Tomi Lahren watched the State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, followed by the response from Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.). Unlike most of her fellow Americans, however, Lahren then had the opportunity to turn around and share her reactions with 1.2 million Instagram followers.
In her since-deleted Instagram story, Lahren called Kennedy a “limp-dick,” and declared the congressman’s speech to be “pathetic.”

In the video, Lahren looks directly at the camera and tells her followers, “If you haven’t yet had the displeasure of watching that little limp-dick’s response to President Trump’s State of the Union, I suggest you take some Pepto-Bismol, or some Midol, or whatever you need to do to get through it because it was pathetic, and it was embarrassing, OH MY GOD.”
(Sidebar: I’m just now realizing that Jennifer Lawrence would probably do an excellent job of portraying Lahren in an SNL sketch, so if someone with more power than me could make that ratings-boost happen, that’d be great.)
Lahren then went on to post a snippet from Kennedy’s speech, with the words “Cannot wait to shred this little ginger nerd” superimposed over the video.
