If there’s one thing that will keep you young, bright-eyed and smiling, it’s watching Ted Cruz be subjected to uncomfortable situations. So, with that said, here’s to your health!
Recently, Tammy Talpas, one of Cruz’s constituents, read a statement to Cruz in regards to her access to healthcare. In the statement, Talpas pointedly asks Cruz if he would consent to take a DNA test in order to prove that he’s a human.
Obviously, watching Ted squirm is easily the highlight of the video.
“If you force me into a high-risk pool, you will either bankrupt me or kill me,” Talpas says in the clip. “I take these threats of medical aggression personally and seriously, and I can assure you I’m not the only Texan who does. My question is: Will you pledge to submit to a DNA test to prove that you’re human?”
Cruz managed to skirt the question entirely, saying, “Well, ma’am, thank you for that, and one of the great things about our democratic system is we can treat each other with respect and civility.”
“Is that a yes or a no?” Talpas prompted.
“Ma’am, if you want to engage in insults, that’s your prerogative, but I’m not going to reciprocate,” Cruz replied.
I don’t know, Ted — that definitely sounds like something a non-human would say …
