Posobiec has responded to the very public ban by declaring that the Bumble account was a fake, meant to discredit him. However, it’s looking like this excuse is becoming increasingly flimsy. According to BuzzFeed:
Posobiec was married in November 2017 and his Twitter bio says he’s a “conservative Christian.” He told BuzzFeed News that he met his wife in 2015 at bible study, that he never had a Bumble account, and that there are many fake accounts of him on social media. (Bumble confirmed that the account was tied to his real Facebook, but would not clarify the details of how it knew the account was real.)
Apparently, Posobiec’s Bumble account has only been inactive since 2016.
While it’s unclear whether or not Posobiec was actively using the account to cheat on his then-girlfriend, he is certainly doing his best to frantically dismiss the validity of the account. Posobiec told his followers he is filing an “identity theft report with the FBI” over the “fraudulent” account.
I am filing an identify theft report with the FBI over fraudulant accounts made of me online
The criminals behind this will not get away with it, they will be found, and they will be brought to swift, exacting justice.
This criminal fraud stops now

Posobiec “confirmed” his actions to BuzzFeed, saying “I’m filing an FBI criminal identity fraud report to put a stop to this nonsense. My pregnant wife is sick of this harassment of our family.”
Posobiec apparently also told Jezebel, “That’s clearly some troll. I have a hot Eastern European wife, as everyone knows … This certainly isn’t the first time someone has created a fake account to smear a conservative celebrity.”
Twitter wasn’t buying Posobiec’s story, though:
You called the FBI because a woman caught you cheating on your wife.
She didn’t miss, she hit you with a fucking haymaker square in the jaw. pic.twitter.com/eGP3hB9OLL

First excuse: i would never cheat because my wife is white
Second excuse: the woman who found my bumble profile is a deep state hacker
Third excuse: what if my official facebook was hacked— Brendan Karet ? (@bad_takes) January 28, 2018

While it remains to be seen how this story will play out, something tells me that the FBI isn’t going to be investigating this “identity theft” anytime soon.
