Another Old President Trump Christmas Tweet Just Came Back To Bite Him, And We’re Not Surprised

About a month ago, Fox News ran an editorial praising President Donald Trump for his self-proclaimed role as a general in the so-called, non-existent “War on Christmas.” Perpetuating the idea that public and government figures weren’t “allowed” to say “Merry Christmas” anymore out of a tradition-eschewing, politically-correct hatred of all that is holly and jolly and merry and bright, Trump boldly declared on the campaign trail that he would be the kind of president who would make America great again by saying the controversial words “Merry Christmas.”

Except that his predecessor, progressive icon and right wing derision source Barack Obama, totally said “Merry Christmas” all the time. Twitter had the receipts.

Trump seems to now think that because he declared himself a “Merry Christmas” sayer, other people are saying it more now, and he, of course, took full credit.

Well, it would seem the president’s feelings on the subject have changed over the years, as often is the case. And because he tweets every stray thought that ever enters his head, there’s a Twitter-based paper trail. Back in 2010, while President Obama was supposedly leading the war on Christmas Trump was tweeting out his own curiously-worded winter greetings of tidings of joy.

This blast from the past was basically a wonderful Christmas and/or holiday gift, as far as Twitter was concerned.
