Another day, another trigger-finger tweet from our Chief Executive chock-full of misogyny, Russia, and the words “fake news” in all capitals. New York senator Kirsten Gillibrand called on Trump to resign after four women urged Congress to investigate sexual misconduct allegations against the president. Naturally, her statement was met with vehemence in the form of two tweets.
The first paints Democrats in general as using any and all ammo— fictional or not— to oust the president. “Unable to show any collusion with Russia” Trump claims Dems are now throwing “false accusations and fabricated stories” of women he’s never met. The tweet ends in a familiar manner.
Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia – so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS!

In the second tweet, the president attacks Kirsten Gillibrand specifically. He calls her a “total flunky” and someone who would “do anything” for campaign contributions— the implication here is not difficult to ascertain.

Gillibrand in turn was quick to respond, citing the “unfitness and shame” Trump has brought to the Oval Office in his attempt to silence his accusers.
You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office. https://t.co/UbQZqubXZv

Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren tweeted in support of Gillibrand, calling the president’s tweets towards her an attempt to “bully, intimidate and slut-shame.” A “visibly angry Warren, who almost never talks to reporters” said of the president’s words: “Disgusting. It was disgusting. It’s clear what he was getting at.”
Are you really trying to bully, intimidate and slut-shame @SenGillibrand? Do you know who you're picking a fight with? Good luck with that, @realDonaldTrump. Nevertheless, #shepersisted. https://t.co/mYJtBZfxiu

So far, 16 women have accused President Donald Trump of sexual harassment or sexual assault. In the wake of the “silence breakers” and the outpouring of support— both socially and legally— some of these women have recently come forward with their stories again. This week, four of these women asked Congress to investigate and hold Trump accountable for his actions.
Unsurprisingly, the White House has denied any and all allegations of sexual misconduct by the president. Although Trump has no issues calling out Matt Lauer and Al Franken for inappopriate sexual behavior, he has come out in support of pedophile Roy Moore and recently tried to deny the infamous grab-em-by-the-pussy “Access Hollywood” tape was real, despite already having issued a rare apology for his lewd remarks on the video during his campaign.
