‘Stranger Things’ Actor David Harbour Just Wore A Christmas Sweater, Became A Photoshop Battle

The Golden Globe nominations are out, and once again, Netflix’s terrifying — but somehow comfortingly nostalgic — Stranger Things is a contender in some of the bigger TV categories, including Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor. That particular nomination went to David Harbour for portraying Jim Hopper, Hawkins, Indiana’s police chief and Eggo addict enabler.

It’s Harbour’s first-ever Golden Globe nomination, and he was so excited and thankful to both GG voters and the fans that got him to where he is today that he showed his appreciation in the best way possible. He wore an ill-fitting and ugly Christmas sweater over his Stranger Things police uniform, and then he posted a picture of himself wearing it on Instagram. He called his nomination an early Christmas present, but this picture is an early Christmas present for the rest of us.

The always enthusiastic fans of Stranger Things totally loved it, of course, and so did some of the world’s silly and intrepid photograph manipulators. The convergence of so many delightfully goofy elements in Harbour’s post — hat, sweater, cigarette — quickly made the photo the subject of a “Photoshop Battle” on Reddit. The winner of that battle? Everyone.
