Katherine Heigl And Her Husband Just Recreated A Ten-Year-Old Photo, And It’s Impressive

2007 was a very big year for Katherine Heigl. Not only was she a breakout star of the cast of the white-hot medical soap Grey’s Anatomy, but she won an Emmy Award for her role as the complicated, doctor-in-training Izzie Stevens. She also got married to her husband, singer-songwriter Josh Kelley in 2007 — specifically, on December 23, 2007.

They celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary (congrats!) in the way that people do that in the year 2017: With a viral re-creation of a fun old photograph taken while the couple was still dating about 12 years ago. On December 23, Heigl posted this image on her Instagram and Twitter pages — the old pic is on top, and the new one is on bottom.

As Heigl explained in the caption, they were dressed up in the fashion of two characters from The Royal Tenenbaums, which was something fun, young people did back in the ‘00s. Heigl was clearly channeling sullen Margot Tenenbaum (Gwyneth Paltrow), and Kelley went for tennis player Richie Tenenbaum (Luke Wilson). Fun fact: Those two characters had kind of an incestuous thing going on; Heigl and Kelley are not related to each other, except as wife and husband and parents.

While some things have changed — Heigl doesn’t smoke anymore, for example — both parties are aging quite well. People on social media tend to agree.
