Katharine McPhee Just Made An Epic Dig At ‘Smash’ Using A Popular Meme

American Idol alum Katharine McPhee will be making her Broadway debut this week as the leading role in Waitress, a show adapted from the 2007 film starring Keri Russell — however, this is certainly not McPhee’s first foray into musical theater.

McPhee’s breakout role was in NBC’s musical series Smash, a show which received immense praise for its initial pilot, but which lost favor with many critics when subsequent episodes exhibited a sharp drop in quality. McPhee was apparently fully aware of the show’s critics and didn’t hesitate to dish out a sick Smash burn during a recent promotion for her upcoming Broadway debut.

In the spirit of the latest trend to rock Twitter, McPhee made it clear where she stood on Smash versus Waitress with the “If you don’t love me at my … ” meme.

Naturally, some Smash fans were OFFENDED on behalf of the canceled series.

However, plenty of people also applauded McPhee (mouths agape) for straight-up roasting one of her more uninspiring resume items.

Hopefully Waitress curries favor with critics, otherwise, Kat might be out here making more theatre memes yet again. (Honestly, I wouldn’t complain.)
