Comedian Replaces ‘Lady Bird’ Trailer Dialogue With Her Own Screams—And It’s Oscar-Worthy

Lady Bird is one of the best-reviewed movies of the last year, earning such universal praise that it briefly enjoyed a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That makes Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age movie set in 2002 Sacramento one of the most liked movies ever. The huge haul of awards it’s received, including Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress (Saorise Ronan) certainly didn’t hurt.

But whenever anything is widely liked, it seems like there’s some kind of backlash. Someone will point out that it’s overrated, or rips off something else. Or maybe a comedian will swoop in and just bring all the starry-eyed viewers and critics back down to Earth by poking fun at the movie.

That’s exactly what a Twitter user known only as “toni” did. The internet comedian went the absurd route and recut the Lady Bird trailer, removing all the dialogue and inserting herself screaming every single word and sound. Simple, but effective.
