On Thursday, Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from Donald Trump Jr., and the Twittersphere promptly exploded with comments, theories and jokes about the couple’s alleged marital unrest. Thanks to political leanings and personal opinions about the president’s son, many people neglected to consider the fact that Don Jr. and his wife have five kids together, and this news essentially points to the dissolution of a family.
Well, either they didn’t consider that fact, or they didn’t really care.
I get why some people are hesitant to make fun of Donald Trump Jr’s impending divorce “because he has five kids” but have we considered that that this might be the best thing that ever happens to those kids

Chelsea Clinton, known for keeping things classy even when it comes to her family’s political opponents, chimed in on the Twitter hubbub and reminded everyone to be respectful when it comes to the president’s grandkids and their privacy.
Please respect the privacy of President Trump’s grandchildren. They’re kids and deserve to not be your clickbait. Thank you.

This isn’t the first time that Chelsea Clinton has defended the Trump kids against the media’s scrutiny. The Daily Caller once wrote a piece about President Trump’s son, Barron, stating that “the youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public.”
Clinton clapped back at the outlet, telling them to “leave Barron Trump alone” and “let him have the private childhood he deserves.”
It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves https://t.co/Wxq51TvgDX

This tweet echoed the sentiments expressed by Clinton when people joked about Barron being “recast” as 12-year-old Preston Sharp at the State of the Union. Clinton responded to the jests by writing, “Whatever our politics, I hope we can agree to both leave 11-year old private citizen Barron Trump alone and celebrate 12-year old Preston Sharp for his work to honor the graves of every military veteran.”
Donald Trump Jr. responded to Clinton’s defense of Barron in an uncharacteristically civil manner, saying “On this we agree. Thank you.”
