Bernie Sanders Claims Cardi B’s Statement On ‘Who Really Made America Great Again’ Is 100% Right

Senator Bernie Sanders and rapper Cardi B may be two names you never thought you’d read in the same headline–or sentence–but, they’re coming together for a pretty good reason.

Recently, in an interview with GQ Magazine, Cardi B was talking about her obsession with “American Presidents,” and U.S. History–something not many people would think she was into. In the interview, she started off by saying she loves Franklin Delano Roosevelt–former U.S. President.

She continued on by explaining why, and it’s gotten a lot of attention from liberal politicians. The rapper and social influencer said:

“First of all, he helped us get over the Depression, all while he was in a wheelchair. Like, this man was suffering from polio at the time of his presidency, and yet all he was worried about was trying to make America great—make America great again for real. He’s the real ‘Make America Great Again,’ because if it wasn’t for him, old people wouldn’t even get Social Security.”

She continued to explain that FDR was the one who brought “America back after the depression.”

Yes, from the New Deal. It was a system to get us back from the world Depression—then, on top of that, while he was president there was a fucking war going on. World War II was going on. So all this sh*t going on in the United States, while recouping the country from an economic tragedy, making sure that America won the war—and his wife? I would say she was almost like Michelle Obama. She was such a good humanitarian, and we both got the same birthday, October 11th.

In all honesty, she’s not wrong. While many people hold Cardi B in the regard of being a “stripper turned rapper,” who lacks intelligence, the soon-to-be mother actually knows her facts. And, now, has gotten some support from the former presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders.

In a tweet this week, Sanders wrote that Cardi B is right about social security and FDR “making America great again.” He claimed that if we were going to make America great again at all, we have to strengthen social security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.

He also followed up with this video, shouting out Cardi B and thanking her for bringing attention to social security–especially since she’s so prevalent and popular with young people.

People on Twitter were over-the-moon excited to see two of their favorite people teaming up.
