Ever since lawyer Aaron Schlossberg delivered a racist rant to the staff at a Midtown Fresh Kitchen, his ass is grass, as far as the internet is concerned.
Schlossberg went on his tirade at the Manhattan eatery because one of the employees apparently dared to greet customers in Spanish. In the clip, Schlossberg tells an employee, “Every person I listened to, he spoke it. He spoke it. She’s speaking it. It’s America… So I will be following up, and my guess is, they’re not documented. So my next call is to ICE to have each one of them kicked out of my country. If they have the balls to come here and live off of my money. I pay for their welfare. I pay for their ability to be here. The least they can do, the least they can do is speak English.”
So my wife and her best friend Just experience what America is becoming !They where on there lunch time and ordering there food and just because they where speaking in Spanish to the waiter this asshole jumps in and started to call the waiter and my wife and her best friend all types of names and threatened to call I.C.E on them and the employees !!!!What a big man talking down to couple of women and a helpless employee. I wish someone tells me I can’t speak in my native language ! First of all they wasn’t talking to you !! Asshole !My country !! Haha ? I love the way people are just throwing that world around lately !! If you love this country this much ! Why don’t you put on uniform and protect it !!If he was so offended because the waiter was speak in Spanish only because of a native person spoke to him in Spanish, why don’t he start waitering and he won’t have that issue and family stop getting Spanish nannies and stop getting Spanish people to farm and ………You know where I’m getting !!So please stop !! Of course, in addition to being offensive, Schlossberg’s impassioned rant was entirely misguided: undocumented immigrants do not qualify for benefits, and speaking Spanish doesn’t automatically make you an undocumented immigrant.
After the clip went viral, the internet quickly identified Schlossberg as a 44-year-old lawyer with his own offices in Midtown. Since then, Schlossberg has been appropriately hounded by the media for his insensitive remarks, and, in one case, the lawyer actually sprinted away from an NBC News crew.
Basically: Schlossberg has been getting a huge dose of karma.
There is now a GoFundMe page to raise enough money to send a mariachi band to Schlossberg’s offices. “We are requesting the band to sing the famous, endearing, and warm Spanish children song, La Cucaracha, the cockroach,” the page says. “We are countering hate and racism with the sound of music.”
Since a mariachi group in New York actually agreed to perform free of charge, the $1,098 raised will go toward sending “a delicious Taco Truck lunch to the staff [as well as] a copy of all federal and state statute mentioning undocumented immigrants do not qualify for welfare.”
The page is no longer taking donations but does encourage people to donate money to Immigrant Defense Project.
However, it is now being reported that Schlossberg is getting forced out of his office space, thanks to his bigotry. The president of Corporate Suites, Hayim Grant, told The New York Post that “
So, perhaps the mariachi band can simply incessantly serenade Schlossberg as he wanders around, touring new office spaces?
Honestly, that sounds even more effective.
