Mid-term elections are expected to be quite contentious this year, as a handful of Republicans are expected to face unprecedented upsets to their comfortable seats in Congress. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) may very well end up being one of these conservatives come November, as he is up for re-election and facing Democrat Beto O’Rourke — and one of his Texas constituents just celebrated this possibility by trolling him in a photo opp.
Austin resident Rebecca, AKA @LazyyMillennial, recently posed for a photo with Cruz when she encountered the Republican senator in the Dallas airport. Rebecca wore a lanyard which read “Texas deserves better than Cruz!” under her blazer and apparently “unbuttoned the blazer at the last second.”
Got to meet someone who supposedly represents me today. Not for much longer, though! #BetoForTexas @SenTedCruz @BetoORourke pic.twitter.com/7S4yVR5uAj

Rebecca told her Twitter followers that Cruz didn’t suspect a thing when the photo was taken.
Naturally, people couldn’t help but admire such dedication to a next-level trolling.
Did he appear when you said his name three times in a mirror?

Did you stealth shade this dipshit? You are the best person on the internet.
Or is he so stupid he didn’t read your lanyard.— Citizen Zero (@DipswitchDan) March 23, 2018

It’s reminiscent of the time a woman trolled Ted Cruz by wearing a Pod Save America shirt in a photo opp.
Way to go, @NicoleJWebb. You join the pantheon of great friends of the pod. pic.twitter.com/hW2K9HTLdq

Or the time a guy did the same thing when posing with Paul Ryan.
This dude just photo-bombed @SpeakerRyan with a shirt that says: “REPEAL AND GO FUCK YOURSELF. -GOP”
I owe you a beer, sir. pic.twitter.com/RgdorP8Qxn

While it’s unclear whether O’Rourke will actually offer a challenge to Cruz’s seat in the Senate, the Democratic candidate did raise significantly more money than Cruz during the first six weeks of 2018 — and it’s no secret that even many Republican lawmakers find Cruz to be a snake. Former President George W. Bush once said “I just don’t like the guy” when asked about Cruz, and Cruz was booed during the Republican National Convention in 2016.
It may be time for Ted Cruz to start worrying.
