Burger Fiction, a YouTube channel that specializes in film history supercuts, put together a supercut of every movie that’s ever won that special visual effects Oscar. Not only does it work as a history of film itself, stretching all the way back to the first movie to receive the award in 1928 (Wings, for “Engineering Effects”), but it’s also a fascinating, chronological look at the evolution of the technologies that make the movies we love so special.
