Woman Asks Her Husband To Buy Some Fenty Highlighter, And He Was Clearly Confused

When you ask your husband for a present, you should probably be sure that you’re hella specific with what you want.
While asking for an item can be obvious, there are many products for women–hair, makeup, beauty–that double as something else. Like, for example, highlighters. When girls first started telling me that they’re using “highlighter” on their face, I’ll admit even was confused–not knowing what a highlighter truly was. So, when Charlema asked her husband Vince for a “Fenty highlighter and brush” as her anniversary gift–no wonder Vince was confused.

Charlema told BuzzFeed:

We decided to celebrate our one-month milestone because a lot had been thrown at us during our first month of marriage. My husband asked me what I wanted for a present and to be honest, I was not expecting anything. Our focus is buying a home, so I didn’t want him to break the bank. I love Rihanna’s Fenty line so I asked for a highlighter and a brush. I really wanted it to be Fenty but because I didn’t want to complicate things, I said I was open to any kind of highlighter that popped. He kissed me on my forehead and said, “Babe are you sure that’s it?” I said, “Yes, that would mean a lot to me.

So, Vince went to the store looking for a “Fenty highlighter and brush.” But, what he got was not exactly what Charlema was thinking. In a Facebook post, Charlema shared the “gift” she received from her hubby.

So my wonderful new husband Vincent Webbasked what I wanted for our 1 month wedding anniversary. I told him I wanted a highlighter and a brush to go with it. I said I preferred Fenty but was open to anything that popped.

Vince says “Stink after going to a few drug stores I couldn’t find no Fenty but I got you sharpie because they are the best highlighters and they been around for a cool minute” Thank you for my present baby but….
I don’t think I ever laughed so hard in my life!!!!

She told BuzzFeed that he was super nervous when giving her the gift, too.

As he was presenting me with the gift he seemed nervous. He said, “Babe, I thought finding you a highlighter would be easy but I went everywhere and could not find the Fenty.” I assured him that I would likely love whatever he purchased. I then pulled out the brush and thought it was something he decided to grab me in addition to what I asked for. I then pulled out the Sharpie highlighters and thought, OMG! At the time, I didn’t say anything because he told me that he had gone to a few drug stores. The next day, I told him and we both laughed ourselves to tears.

Seriously–how sweet? Even though he had no idea what his wife was talking about, he tried his very best to get her what she “wanted.” And, to top it all off, Fenty Beauty is working on getting Charlema exactly what she wished for.

Word to the wise ladies–send your husband the exact item you want.
