Earlier this week The Wall Street Journal dropped a not-so-surprising bombshell that Donald Trump’s lawyer paid adult film actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in 2016 to keep quiet about a sexual affair they engaged in for over a year. The hush money naturally came with a non-disclosure agreement Daniels signed, but that didn’t stop InTouch from publishing a previously unseen interview with Daniels about the affair from 2011. A new report by Mother Jones added a bizarre wrinkle to the reports and they’ve got receipts.
In 2009 Daniels was interested in launching her own political career by challenging then-Senator David Vitter (R-LA), who was mired in his own prostitution scandal. According to Mother Jones, in an email with her political consultants about rounding up high-level donors for a possible senate bid, Daniels raised some eyebrows by dropping Trump’s name as a possible contributor.
