We make fun of old people for not being able to use computers and the internet correctly. Why? Because it’s funny to us that they can’t figure out these things that come so second nature to those of us who are young. But then, we grew up with computers and they’ve been integrated into most every part of our lives for as long as we can remember. People in older generations had to adapt to them well into adulthood, and there’s really no frame of reference for the weird glowing box with keys on it. Plus a lot of older folks don’t want to ask for help because, you know, we make fun of them for being old and computer illiterate.
Because it’s popular and relatively easy to use, many not-so-computer-savvy folks flock to Facebook. But they still don’t quite know how it works. It’s a social network, not a gateway to the internet, but they’re still getting fooled by a long unused—and completely fake—application on the site called Google Search App. It is not actually a Google internet-scouring application. Whenever anybody types something in to it, it just posts that request to the app/page’s “community” section. So, you know, publicly. For all the world to see.
Here are some of the funniest and cringe-worthy “Google searches” posted there (with their identities protected to avoid further embarrassment).
