People on Twitter were impressed and grateful for his commentary on depression, seeing as it’s a common illness many of us suffer from on an everyday basis.

They are not. They are genetic and they nearly killed me. Admitting I didn't chose to be this way saved my life.

I have tried many times to live like depression is a choice. It does not work. Eventually I find myself fantasizing about being dead. Anyone who says this crap does not understand what depression really is.
