Demi Lovato has always been incredibly outspoken against bullying, as well as encouraging her fans to embrace who they are. Inviting Roem, to her, was a no-brainer. She told E! News:
“We connected because I heard her story. She is actually the first out and seated transgender state legislator in American history, and when I heard that, I was just completely inspired by it. I wanted to have her in the audience with me tonight because I feel like we have been through some of the same things and now we get to share this experience together.”
People were not only impressed but, also, inspired and proud of Lovato for being outspoken about the political climate and celebrating a moment in history that deserved to be recognized.
