Many fans know Normani as a singer and songwriter who’s a proud member of the all-girl group, Fifth Harmony. Like her former groupmate, Camilla Cabello, Normani has ventured out into the solo world–releasing her first solo single “Love Lies” in February 2018.
Recently, in an interview with Hot97, Normani opened up about her recent collaboration with Missy Elliot and a time that completely changed her life. In the interview, she mentioned the time she met Beyoncé for the first time–someone who has always been an idol of hers.
Apparently, she was at an event with Justine Skye when Beyoncé walked in and she immediately was nervous. She remembered people telling her about “not meeting your idols,” because, sometimes, they’re not the same in-person. But, she knew Bey wouldn’t disappoint.
When Beyoncé saw her, she said she was “so happy to finally meet her,” and had heard so much about Normani–that she almost cried. The two had a conversation about work and both growing up in Texas, and Normani thanked her for everything she has done.
Beyoncé even told her how “proud she was” of her. Tears, guys, tears.
