Nanny Tackles Package Thief Who Is Trying To Escape–And Becomes A Badass Internet Hero

Someone going above and beyond their job description is always going to be appreciated, particularly when they’re serving up cold, hard justice to those who deserve it.

Case in point: This news-making nanny in suburban Seattle. Her job: watch the kids. But when this woman is on duty, she takes it upon herself to watch over the entire household and thwart any threats to it whatsoever.

Here’s what happened: Surveillance video shows a car pull up a house in Everett, Washington, a woman pops out of the passenger seat, runs up to the home…and then hoofs it back to the car carrying a large package. Yeah, she engaged in that time-honored holiday tradition of stealing packages off people’s porches because it’s assumed nobody is home to stop them.

Except that the nanny was there to stop them. The video continues with a loud voice yelling out, “HEY! What the f*** are you doing?” The thief gets spooked and trips while trying to get back in the car. Her driver speeds off without her. And so, the woman who yelled — nanny Kate Anderson, it would turn out — tackled the left-behind package thief.

A witness called police, who arrested the crook, Rhieanna Schindler, who had a bunch of priors and a warrant out for her arrest.

“She’s just a straight baller,” Anderson’s employer and intended package recipient Tanya Smith, told the local news media. “She’s amazing and doesn’t take any crap from anybody.” Yeah, no kidding.

Kate Anderson, you are the kind of quick-thinking vigilante the Internet loves.
