Look, the holidays are an incredibly busy and stressful time. There are gifts to buy, cookies to bake, kids to take to visit Santa at the mall, relatives coming into town, annoying carolers stopping at your house, plus all that decorating and putting up Christmas lights outside. Concocting a beautiful, festive display of twinkling lights isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do (it involves ladders, frozen surfaces, and electricity), so sometimes it doesn’t go as planned. Or sometimes you just settle for what you’ve put up on the first try and move on.
The result: some truly funny and unfortunately terrible Christmas light displays. And because we live in the age of the Internet, you don’t have to search out these crimes against the holidays in your town — other people collect them and share them online for everyone’s benefit, like some kind of early, hilarious Christmas present.
