Josh Gad is one of those people who’s so ridiculously and thoroughly talented that you could wind up resenting him as much as you like him. But you don’t, because he’s nothing but goodness. He was the voice of Olaf in Frozen, the most legit funny part of that movie, and he even did dark comedy opposite Billy Crystal on the short-lived FX series The Comedians. He brought the previously one-dimensional LeFou to life in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. And, of course, he’s best known for originating the role of the dim but enthusiastic Elder Cunningham in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon. So that means he can also sing pretty well. (Which is to say he has an excellent singing voice.) It’s an embarrassment of riches what this guy can do, but it’s hard to hate on him because he seems like a decent, humble, self-deprecating guy, at least on social media.
On Wednesday, Gad sent out a standard celebrity fitness tweet, talking about how he was working out hard and on the regular. He boasted that he was even starting to look like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a physical specimen whose physique that many aspire to re-create. Then Gad added a GIF: of Johnson’s naked shower dance routine from the 2015 movie Central Intelligence…in which he was made up to look overweight.
After a month of hard core workouts, I’m really starting to look like .@TheRock pic.twitter.com/IImrC2rzBw

Gad may have been ragging on himself or his physique in a funny way, but good guy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wasn’t having any of it. He looked past the jokes and sent Gad words of thanks, encouragement…and some jokes of his own.
Keep workin’ hard buddy. Great job! It ain’t easy, but embracing the “ain’t easy” part is what defines us.
For the record, this is my daily shower routine while listening to Prince’s “Sexy MF”. https://t.co/LxTlPFcBNy— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) February 8, 2018
