According to recent reposts, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is caught up in some pretty heavy tax fraud problems–which were originally filed in 2014. Since then, Mike has been trying to avoid jail time, seeing as he did some pretty illegal things back in those money-making days. According to reports, the Jersey Shore guido and his brother, Marc, were caught:
…not paying all of the federal income tax owed on Michael’s $8.9 million income from 2010 to 2012. The government also alleged that they deposited cash into different bank accounts to avoid reporting income to the IRS, as well as inflating their business expenses for high-end cars and clothing.
At first, Mike was trying to avoid a plea deal, wanting to avoid going to prison, but, now lawyers are saying he has no option but to take the deal, which leaves him facing up to 15 years in prison, while his brother, Marc, faces up to 25 years.
This comes to light just after his castmate Jenny opened up in an interview about how much Mike has truly changed over the years. Jenny says the true reason they all wanted a Jersey Shore reunion with the original cast was for Mike, and Mike alone. In an interview with People, Jenny confessed:
“Mike was ‘the Situation’ on the show, and he was arrogant and he was cocky and he was very full of himself and it was very hard to accept that person as a friend.”
She continued to say that now, he’s a different person.
I wanted this show to come back together for him because he’s sober, he’s clean, he’s a different human being now. And he’s so positive, he’s so supportive of all of us — I’m like if there’s anyone who deserves this show to come back, it’s [Mike] because I want everyone to see this side of Mike.
Mike had a hard time battling an addiction with numerous painkillers and other pills–but, has been clean for over 2 years now.
