Donald Glover has had an amazing year (and change)— and made our year more amazing because of it. The former 30 Rock writer and Community star won an Emmy for directing an episode of Atlanta, his critically-acclaimed TV show that he also created and stars in. He got a bunch of Grammy nominations for his musical career — he raps under the name Childish Gambino. Glover was also cast as young Lando Calrissian in an upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie. He’s also been tapped to play Simba in The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau’s live-action/CGI adaptation of The Lion King.

Production is underway, as Glover has apparently started laying down his voiceover tracks. Favreau just tweeted out a simple image of himself with Glover in a recording studio. Fans of Favreau, Glover, and The Lion King (past and present) are, well, roaring with delight. (Get it? Lions roar.)

Thank you. A bright spot on my feed full of political lunacy. I think I need a 3-day loop of Elf or something.
