Apparently Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Related, So There’s That

When you decide to marry someone, the one thing you’d want to make sure of is–are we related?
For many of us, this is a no-brainer. But, for others, it’s not uncommon to share some family genes and blood–trust me. For years, prestigious families throughout history kept the family name and bloodline alive by marrying within their family. In fact, newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are kind of related in a strange way.

According to Mail on Sunday,  Harry and Meghan’s share a family member–Ralph Bowes from Streatlam, County Durham born in 1480. According to Metro, Bowes is Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather.

So, it makes them super distant cousins.

It’s semi-ironic that they do share some royal blood, after all, seeing as so many people were saying this royal wedding was “out of the ordinary,” stating that “Markle is biracial and an American celebrity.” However, seeing as they are 17th cousins–it’s pretty much a normal royal wedding! Yay!
