Vice President Mike Pence Just Tweeted A Sad Update About His Cat, Pickle

Vice President Mike Pence’s family has lost another cat a mere six months after Oreo the cat died.  Karen Pence tweeted about the death of Pickle, describing the late feline as “very chatty” and “sweet.” Pickle had been with the Pences for 16 years and moved to Washington with the family in January.

The VP’s daughter Charlotte Pence posted her own tribute to Pickle on her Instagram, writing “When we first rescued Pickle 15 years ago, she had been neglected so she was scared and mean and almost never let us hold her. When we said goodbye to her last night, she was purring in our arms. Thank you, Pickle, for teaching us about how the power of love and family can change someone.”

Tough break for the Pences, who have lost three family pets in the last fourteen months. Oreo the black and white 13-year-old cat died back in June. Karen Pence tweeted about it: “Rest in peace Oreo. You touched a lot of hearts in your little life. Our family will miss you very much.”

And last October, the family lost their 13-year-old beagle Maverick as well. “Heavy hearts today. Our beagle of 13 years passed away quietly last night. Rest In Peace, Maverick. We will miss you,” Pence tweeted just before the presidential election.

But before you get too bummed out, the Pences adopted a new puppy and a kitten named Harley and Hazel, respectively, on Father’s Day.

Better still, the Vice President’s family also have a rabbit named Marlon Bundo, who has his own Instagram account as well as his own book deal. The children’s book, set to drop in March, is titled “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President” and is penned by none other than Charlotte Pence.
