There are times in life when our morbid curiosity almost—just almost—gets the best of us. We wonder “what would happen” if we did something we weren’t supposed to do, that we’ve been told our whole lives not to do, just because the consequences would be severely but vaguely “bad.” Probably at the top of that list: just what, exactly, would happen if you opened a plane door in the middle of a flight at 30,000 feet? Other than get tackled by an Air Marshal and sent to prison for 10 years for endangering the safety of a couple of hundred people. Like, what would happen, scientifically?
Well, now we know the answer. And fortunately, it’s not because somebody actually tried to do it in a real-world setting. An educational YouTube channel called AsapSCIENCE tried to figure it out an lay it out for us.
