If any female character on TV growing up inspired me to take no crap and work hard, no matter what my gender, it’s Miranda from “Sex and the City.” The New York City lawyer never took no for an answer when it came to business–and, even worked long hours when she was pregnant with Brady. When she was treated differently for being a “working mother,” she basically told everyone to shove it. What more can you ask for in a powerful role model? Recently, the news broke that Cynthia Nixon, Miranda herself, is beginning her campaign to run for Governor of New York. And, I couldn’t be prouder. Obviously, Twitter went wild with hilarious jokes and on-point memes.

Miranda isn't the governor we want, but the governor we deserve

What a delight today is for every woman who’s ever been called a “Miranda” as an insult.

"She was fed up with New York's education system and women being pushed to the periphery by a political apparatus that dismissed them as convenient votes with inconvenient opinions. And as I sat there, I wondered: was Cynthia Nixon playing Miranda or was Miranda there all along?" pic.twitter.com/0UTngTDnmx
