Ashley Graham has always been outspoken about the industry and their standards of beauty. For years, she has made her career out of defying the modeling industry’s belief that “thin is beautiful.” Instead, she has made a new normal for herself and other models who aren’t a size 0 or 2. Graham has been recognized by numerous organizations and outlets for her courage and confidence in loving herself for exactly who she is.

After Sunday night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Graham decided to throw a bit of shade at the lingerie company for not including any plus-size models in their show. For years, I have watched the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and wondered why every model looked exactly the same. While they are all beautiful, stunning, gorgeous (any adjective you can imagine), their body types are all identical. While I understand that getting in shape takes hard work and dedication, it’s also a poor representation of a brand that is supposed to represent “sexy” for everyone. I know a lot of girls growing up that felt horrible with themselves and their bodies every single year after seeing the runway show and for that reason, I’m fully in support of Graham and her message. But, I’m not the only one.
