Woman Buys Decaying Fish From Walmart And Is Completely Shocked After Four Weeks

Whenever we walk into a store and see an animal being neglected or hurt, our heart immediately breaks. So many times, our first instinct is that we want to give the animal a good home. Victoria Schild went to her local Walmart and saw a fish that was completely neglected and, knew that she had to rescue him. While many people may not feel for fish (mostly cats and dogs), Schild wanted to give the fish a decent life and a good home. She decided to buy the fish, even though she had no intention of getting a pet anytime soon. She told The Dodo:

I felt incredibly sad for the little guy and decided that I didn’t want him to die in there, just rotting away. I was 95 percent sure he was going to die that night.

As many of us know from having fish when we’re young, not all of them live very long. Our moms and dads were constantly trying to “replace” our fish once they went to fishy heaven in order to save us from the pain of losing a pet. Schild said she didn’t want to lose the fish so soon and did some serious research.

When I got home, I started researching everything that I possibly could to help him recover, and probably within a week of clean warm water, medicine and basic care he started getting better!

After one week, Schild said she was “shocked” to see how much better he was doing with the right feeding schedule and proper care.

After four weeks, this little guy had beautifully grown fins and looked brand new.

“I knew that underneath it all, there was a beautiful little fish. But what won me over was his will to live and his spunk”

It just goes to show you, with a little TLC, anything is possible.
