Fans found out that HQ takes funding from investment shark Peter Thiel, who is well known for bankrupting and causing the end to the popular website Gawker (and, unemploying talented writers and staff, for the record). Since then, people have called for his demise. But, HQ was lacking some serious cash and jumped into bed with the first person who would fund them, no matter how many people hate him. Now, fans of HQ are taking to Twitter to announce they’ve played their last game and they’re boycotting the app, hashtagging #DeleteHQ.
Fuuuuck @hqtrivia provides a much needed break in the workday but their massive new investment from Peter Thiel is enough to make me #deleteHQ. He took away my number one love, Gawker. Fuck that guy.

Dear @hqtrivia I will be deleting your app today. I cannot support a business associated with @peterthiel. I hope this is simply a failure on your part to due diligence on before accepting his help. #DELETEHQ
