This Genius Kid’s Trick To Get Chick-Fil-A Has Twitter Cackling

Pitting parents against one another is one of the oldest and most time-honored traditions of adolescence. Nothing screams “childhood!” quite like the indignant phrase “But mom said I could!”

Recently, Twitter user @decentbirthday asked their mother for a special request: ordering Chick-Fil-A for dinner.

Unfortunately, in the grand tradition of parents everywhere, this mother said, “No.” (Although to be fair, she offered pasta instead, which is a pretty spectacular consolation prize.)

Instead of simply accepting defeat in their fast food quest, @decentbirthday decided to pull out the big guns, and doctored (read: deleted) text messages with their father to make it look as though the dad had agreed to a Chick-Fil-A dinner.

This evil genius then sent screenshots of the “conversation” to their mother, thereby “proving” that Dad didn’t actually want leftover pasta for dinner.

Wow. This could either go really poorly or spectacularly well …
