To all of you out there hoping for a triumphant Britney Spears and Kevin Federline reunion, it just doesn’t look like it’s going to happen: Britney has found love again. More than a year ago, the 36-year-old pop superstar met Sam Asghari, a 23-year-old model (because Britney isn’t going to get with some old guy with a dad bod), when he was cast as a side of beefcake in the video for her song “Slumber Party.” He gave her his number (confidence!) and she finally called him like five months later.
Ever since, they’ve been super into each other in a very public way. They’ve been a constant source of content for photographers and gossip rags, going out to celebrate every special occasion while also keeping the love fest going online with ooey-gooey, super-cute social media posts featuring and directed to each other.
Spears, meanwhile, spent most of 2017 performing multiple nights a week in her eye-popping residency show at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in fabulous Las Vegas. The extremely lucrative concert series wrapped up its long run on New Year’s Eve, which was aired in part on ABC’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. Just after midnight, Spears performed “Toxic,” objectively the best Britney Spears song. (She also did “Work Bitch.)
But apparently before she hit the stage live from Vegas for the last time for the foreseeable future, Spears hung out with Asghari and made a cute little video. It features the swoony couple all up on each other, chatting about the New Year. They also used one of those filters to give themselves pink fuzzy animal ears and little white noses, because if you can do that with your phone, why wouldn’t you do that with your phone?
Asghari also told Spears she looks “beautiful,” and Spears quipped, “I love you.” Awwww…
